Newsletters and Blogs Reach
As I dive farther into my research on social media use within the CMMA it becomes more and more clearer that a Newsletter or Blog would be the best way to enhance the website as well as bring in a younger crowd by giving a different perspective. I understand that an internal newsletter probably already exists, which could make creating an external one even easier because some of that info could be shared between the newsletters. To me, the best way to contribute to the website would be a blog that was done at least once or twice a month by either the board members together or switching between each member for each different weekly blog. That way if there was a special focus that member was looking at informing the public on they would have full freedom to do so however they planned. For example, lets say it was getting towards the end of the academic school year and that board member wanted to let potential interns and graduates know of alternatives to college than for that blog post they could focus on recruiting and educating students on different options offered by the CMMA for those that don't know the opportunities offered in manufacturing. I feel a newsletter is a little too impersonal but could still work if done correctly and the required effort was put in.

I think it would be pretty neat if a representative from each company was given the opportunity to participate in the blogs. That would allow readers to get a bit of a first hand view on the happenings of each company.
ReplyDeleteGood ideas, Chris.
ReplyDeleteI agree, good websites and attempts at social media are the only ways to fully develop towards the tech savvy generations.
